Your Role
We are seeking a Head of System Architecture & Infrastructure to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the technical backbone for our autonomous systems. A core responsibility for this role is to define and implement a comprehensive safety concept for the software platform, ensuring robust, reliable, and safe operation and work towards relevant safety certifications. 

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for software system architecture, software performance benchmarking, and infrastructure. As driveblocks is a fast-moving, dynamic environment, the role requires regular hands-on work.
Your Background
Must-Have Qualifications 

  • System Architecture & Safety Leadership – Minimum 3 years of experience designing and leading software platform architectures for complex, multi-component systems in safety-critical applications using modern C++. 
  • Hands-On Infrastructure Expertise – Proven track record of building scalable software infrastructure, including establishing performance benchmarking frameworks, automated monitoring, or reliability metrics for production systems. 
  • Safety-Critical Mindset – Demonstrated experience applying software safety principles in practice, such as fault-tolerant system design, formal verification, or runtime monitoring, with improvements in system robustness/safety compliance. 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications 


  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or real-time control systems.
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, or equivalent) and experience in implementing safety processes that passed audits/certification. 
  • Hands-on experience designing CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, or automated software release processes, with measurable improvements in release speed, test coverage, or production stability.
